It is an interesting quirk of the human mind that we continually seek to justify our beliefs. To a scientific mind, this is as pointless as it is offensive.
Many will say that there can no more be empirical evidence of a God than the same evidence of an absence of God. So what is the result one might ask?
The result is simple, there is NO GOD.
The Human state is one of continual testing. Testing of one's self, one's environment and the very basis of one's existence. We can (if we have the right mindset) accept and understand the lack of understanding of concepts. We can accept and understand the holes in our own knowledge but as a race, we will continually try to fill them.
Centuries of scientists have created, revised and perfected methods of creating, planning and testing theories. Techniques which have stood us in good stead through the invention/discovery of great technologies to improve our lives.
Why then, do we throw these out of the window when considering the oldest question of all? Is there a God?
Simply put, we believe in belief. For literally thousands of years, the "Human" subject has accepted and elaborated on the existence of a God and the various accoutrements than come with that belief. Confronted with proof of the ridiculousness of this belief, we explain it away at each juncture. The most important thing to realise here is that it is not the truth of the matter which interests the believer, it is the Belief that the Believer believes in.
So is there room for both sorts in the world? The Seeker of Truth or the Believer in Belief? Of course. As there will be Lords and Peasants, Politicians and People, Queens and Subjects, everything requires a counterpoint to properly function. Would the pursuit of science and truth be as strong without the sheep to provoke the need? Of course not.
Truth is, at a basic level, Dangerous. The creators of the Atom Bomb, some might say, should not have informed politicians of their discovery. This TRUTH introduced a dangerous element to the human state BUT should that TRUTH have been hidden, what technological advances might have been missed in the ensuing decades?
Dangerous yes but is not danger the push required to fly to ever greater heights?
This blog is random thoughts from a wanderer. There will rarely be conclusions, rarely a well planned post. These are thoughts as they occur. You may have trouble following them whereas I have no trouble writing them but eventually and ultimately, you were warned. RANDOM thoughts with few, if any, discernable patterns.
PLEASE question your existence. Please question every moment of every day with no fear for your discovery and remember the golden rule, never be afraid to accept TRUTH. TRUTH does not go away regardless of your acceptance of it but your acceptance of it will allow you to prepare.
